T.J. Wilkes

Timothy Justin “T.J.” Wilkes, age 39, died Saturday, April 10, 2021.  A graveside service will be held in Newman Swamp Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021, directed by Belk Funeral Home.

He was born in Florence, SC on November 17, 1981, son of Janet “Jan” Yarborough and the late George Tillman Wilkes.  T.J. loved hunting, fishing, spending time with his dogs and spending time on the lake, he was an enormous outdoor lover. T.J. enjoyed playing video games with his best friends, Craig Richardson and Kevin Powell.  He was a huge Clemson Tiger fan, especially Tiger football and he loved Newman Swamp!  He attended Will of Faith Southern Methodist Church.  T.J. was a caring and giving person; he continued that in death through the gift of organ, eye and tissue donation.

In addition to his mother Jan, of Lamar, he is survived by his grandmother , Jeanette Yarborough, His half sister Jessica Wilkes, many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Yarborough, uncle Tom Yarborough and cousins, Hagan Weaver and Dusty Wilkes.
