Samuel Grady Wallace, Jr.

Samuel “Sam” Grady Wallace, Jr., age 84, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. A graveside service will be held at the Florence National Cemetery at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 15th.

Sam was born in Hartsville, SC on July 6, 1939, to the late Samuel Grady Wallace, Sr., and Bessie Watford Wallace. Sam served in the United States Army and was deployed to Korea, Germany, and several bases stateside. He was an entrepreneur, salesman and truck driver, who was always working hard. In his free time Sam enjoyed spending time with his family, watching all types of motorsports whenever it was on and loved to drive his Farmall Tractor.

He is survived by his three sons, Russ (Kammie Chisolm) Wallace, Sam (Laura) Wallace, III and John (Debra) Wallace; grandchildren, Travis, Corey (Michelle), John, Nathan, Katherine; and three great-grandchildren. Sam is also survived by his siblings, Johnny Wallace and Myrtle Brewer.

In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara L. Norris Wallace; and brothers, Charlie F. Wallace, and Jimmy Wallace.
