Robert "Sarge" M. Register

Robert “Sarge” M. Register, age 66 died Wednesday, June 22, 2022. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26th at Mont Clare Baptist Church with burial following at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Belk Funeral Home.

Born in Darlington on December 13, 1955, Sarge was the son of the late Robert “Bob” H. and Mary Ella Griggs Register. He worked as a truck driver for Goodson Construction for over 30 years. Sarge adored his wife, enjoyed his job, never met a stranger and loved helping others. He attended Mont Clare Baptist Church in Darlington.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Ann Sturkie Register of Hartsville; five children, Robert (Kristy) Register of Darlington, Harley (Brooke) Register of Florence, Haley (Gavin) Larymore of Darlington, Hartley Register of Darlington, and Haven Register of Hartsville; nine grandchildren, Shane, Aaliyah, Brianna, Jaycie, Nahla, Blake, Bentley, Liam, and Hendrixx. Also surviving are his siblings, William (Katie) Register, Buck (Donna) Register, Sandra Register (Allen) Moody, Otis Register, Randy Register, Ken (Elisha) Register, and Rusty Register.
