Robert "Bob" Warr Obituary

Robert Alexander Warr “Bob”, born August 14, 1938, the son of the late Osta Lee and Clarice Conner Warr died Thursday, February 4th after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anne Carter Warr. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 7th at 3:00 p.m. at Lamar Memorial Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Better known as Bob, he attended Quietude and Lamar Schools, graduating from Wofford College with a degree in physics and a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He returned home to agri-business. Bob was a retired farmer and had been a partner in the Golden Leaf Warehouse of Lamar and Lake City, SC. He was responsible for developing an Industrial Park and three manufacturing facilities at US Hwy. 401 & I-20, and was a partner in Westbrook Residential Development in Florence. Bob enjoyed improving property around Lamar and took a great interest in the Lamar Memorial Cemetery.

Bob served on the Darlington County ASCS Committee, Member of Farm Bureau, served on Forward Darlington County and was Darlington County’s Developer of the Year during his development of the Industrial Park at US Hwy 401 & I-20.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Phebe Farley Warr. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Katherine Warr Woodham Laney (Jerry) of Mill Valley, CA; Robert A. Warr, Jr. (Pam) of Manning; Scarlett Woods Thomas (Buddy) of Lamar; and William J. “Jim” Woods (Wendy) of Florence. Nine grandchildren, Willis Josey Woodham (Stephanie), Conner Woodham, Alex Warr, Morgan Warr, Austin Warr, Sarah Hannah Williams (Franklin), Ellie Gee, Jaye Woods and Thomas Woods. Two great-grandchildren that he adored, Lillian Anne and Julie Williams; a sister, Virginia Warr and brother, Preston Warr.
