Robert Kenneth Jewell, age 52, went to meet his maker on August 23, 2020 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the son of Anne and Ed Jenkins and the late Kenneth Jewell.

Robert was born on June 15, 1968 in Darlington, SC. He attended West Florence High School and the University of South Carolina. He was active in sports and played the drums in High School. He graduated with honors and was listed in “Who’s Who Among High School Students” in 1984 and 1985. Robert pursued a career in building and soon became a Licensed Contractor, where he excelled in design and craft-construction.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Darlington. He loved cooking, especially for large groups, and had a heart of gold. Robert was a loving, kind soul and would lend a helping hand to perfect strangers. Fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes.

He is survived by his parents; a “special niece”, Caroline of Atlanta; brother, John and his family of Richmond Hill, GA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, a private memorial service was held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington.

Anne and family,
I was so sorry to hear of Robert's passing.  Losing a child is the worst heartache by far.  I lost my Brandon in2018.  Please know you all are in my heart and prayers.

Anne, we did not know about your  loss. That was the same weekend that Monica went to meet Jesus as well. I was so grateful that you remembered me at that time. Please know you will be in my prayers.  God is so good and He will continue to bless you as you go through this journey. With much love,

Anne:  I am so glad you posted this.  You know you and your family have been in my prayers.  You are often in my thoughts.  Look forward to the day when we see each other.  With much love, Connie

Dearest Anne and Ed., I  think of both of you often and wish with all my heart that I could have been there with you back in August. It's a sad time losing a loved one. We know that he is in God's hands and there is no where better to be. My prayers and love are forever with you. I am hoping sooner than later we will be able to visit. Take care and stay safe. Again, I love you.
