Obituary
Raleigh Harrington,78, passed away Monday August 7, 2023, at his home. A visitation will be held at Belk Funeral Home Wednesday August 9, 2023, from 10 to 11am. A graveside service, will follow at 11:15 am in Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church Cemetery at 1665 Philadelphia Street in Darlington.
Raleigh was born February 20th, 1945, to Johnny Harrington and Louise Frances Chavis Harrington of Darlington. He was a lifelong carpenter and retired from Privette Construction in 2007. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, taking care of his flowers, plants, and chickens.
He leaves behind his daughter Helen Stribling(Allen), special friend Louiza McGee, sisters; Bessie Mullen, Mary Williams, brother Lavern Harrington, his grandchildren Brandy Helton, Samantha Jones(David), Rocky Helton(Stephanie), Roger Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Misty Biles(Daniel), Bridgette Miller(Brian), and Todd Northcutt, along with eleven great grandchildren and his beloved canine companion Teddy.
Preceding him in death is his wife Debra Jean Harrington, his parents Johnny and Louise, sons Roger Johnson and Johnny Franklin Harrington, sisters Inez Powell and Daisy Mae Weatherford, brothers LH Harrington, Hubert Harrington, Steve Harrington, and John Henry Harrington.
