Olivia "Livvy" (McDonald) Baird

Olivia “Livvy” McDonald Baird, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, August 20th in Mechanicsville Baptist Church 2364 Cashua Ferry Road Darlington, with visitation one hour prior in the church sanctuary.

Livvy was born in Darlington County on January 19, 1951, daughter of the late Henry Oscar McDonald, Jr and Elizabeth Shumake McDonald Clarke. Livvy was raised by the late Charles Buddy Vaughn as her father. She was a graduate of Bishopville High School and graduated from nursing school in 1972. She worked as a registered nurse for doctors and hospitals in the Darlington Community. Livvy was known for her kind and caring heart for those in need. She was a long time member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church.

Livvy is survived by her brother, Guy (Cynthia) McDonald of Hartsville, grandsons, Brandon Alexander, Jr., and Gabriel Alexander and their mother, Hannah (Chris) McFadden of Hartsville, cousins whom were more like sisters to Livvy, Jackie Hunter, Barbara (Mike) Anderson, and a special friend Shirley.

In addition to her parents, Livvy is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Tazewell “Taz” Baird, III, son, Brandon Alexander, Sr., daughter, Beth Parr, granddaughter, Charlee McGee, brother, Rocky Shumake, and a sister, Sharlee Bee Vaughn.
