Melissa "Missy" Northcutt

Melissa "Missy" Blackburn Northcutt, aged 49, died August 2, 2023 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.  Melissa was born January 19, 1974 in Darlington, a daughter of the late Jack Donald Blackburn and the late Sandra Patricia Owens Blackburn Walters. Melissa was formerly employed at the Country Barn in Darlington, and enjoyed karaoke, collecting angels, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking meals for her family.

Melissa is survived by her husband Kenneth “Pookie” Hopkins of the home, two daughters Bridgette Miller (Bryan) and Elizabeth Easterling (Tyquan Brown) both of Hartsville, and two sons Todd Kelvin Northcutt and Edwin “BJ” Easterling Jr, both of Hartsville, a stepdaughter Christina Ott (Zeb) of Hartsville, two brothers Kenneth “Kenno” Lynn Blackburn of Hartsville and Earl Dale Blackburn of North Carolina.  Melissa was also survived by five grandchildren Natalia, Colby, Kaynin, Scarlet, and Kymber Miller and three step-grandchildren Braylee Ott, Brayden Anderson, and Caroline Anderson.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother Donald Mark Blackburn.

The visitation will be at 11:00 Saturday, August 5 at Belk Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be conducted by the Reverend Dale McCluney and the Reverend Hazel Mixon, with burial to follow at Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church cemetery.  Donations can be made to Belk Funeral Home in Darlington.
