Obituary

The following obituary is being posted at the family's request and on behalf of our friends at Brown Pennington Atkins Funeral Home.

It is with deep sorrow that the Outlaw family announces the death of Ms. Mary Lee Fodge Outlaw, 74.

Ms. Outlaw entered into rest on Friday, August 25, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Buddy Amerson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Donald Fodge and the late Jeanne Robinette Lasiter, and was raised by her grandparents, Mary and Bill Warr.

Ms. Outlaw loved the mountains, flowers, birds, taking photographs, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially baking cookies during the holidays. She was very protective and a spiritual person. She was strong and independent and loved to travel. She always helped others in need and made everyone feel welcome and loved. She enjoyed doing hair for others and made everyone feel better about themselves. She was our angel on earth.

Surviving are son, Marion L. Outlaw Jr. of Darlington, SC; daughters, Nichole Outlaw (Barry) Teel of Darlington, Donna Outlaw (Marty) Stevens of Hartsville, Anissa Buffie Outlaw O'Neal of Hartsville; special daughters, Kathey (Bert) Beard of Lugoff, SC, Sandra (David) Cortes' of Darlington, SC, Nikki (Scotty) Powell of Hartsville, SC; brother, Billy (Michelle) Lasiter of Indiana; sisters, Doris (Doug) Hicks of Indiana, Donna Lasiter Brown of Indiana, Denise (Keven) Meese of Indiana; special cousins, Sue Jennings of Orangeburg, SC, and Robert Caswell of Hartsville, SC; and her best friend, Wanda Howle of Hartsville, SC.

Ms. Outlaw also leaves behind grandchildren, Barry (BJ) T. Teel Jr. of Raleigh, NC, David James Cortes' Jr. of Darlington, SC, Ashli (James) Williams of Taylors, SC, Brittany (Player) Mimms of Camden, SC, Lona Blake Outlaw of Hartsville, SC, Alexis Flowers, Nicholas Teel of Darlington, SC, Rebecca (Brandon) Blackwell of Lexington, SC, Jesse (George) Beard of Lugoff, SC, Alfred (Cody) and Olivia Teel of Darlington SC, Caitlyn Stevens and Dakota Stevens of Hartsville, SC, Amber Powell of Hartsville, SC, Cole O'Neal of Society Hill, SC, Dylan Outlaw of Florence, SC, Damian Dixon of Hartsville, SC, Wyatt Outlaw of Darlington, SC; and great-grandchildren, William Branham, Emma Outlaw O'Neal, Olivia Branham, Ayden Cowick, Ansley Cowick, Anthony "AJ" Foss, James "JJ" Williams, Paisley Teel, Jace Branham, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Williams, Hayden Watford, Vivian "Viv" Williams, Penelope Watford, Nicholas "Jr" Hall, Samuel "Sammy" Williams, Daisey Powell, Luka Hall, Dawson Gainey, Madi Mimms, Alfie Teel II, all of SC; and 13 nieces/nephews and 17 great-nieces/nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Lasiter of Indiana and sister, Sylvia Lasiter Lashey of Indiana.
