Marifaye Lewis Haselden

Marifaye Lewis Haselden, age 40, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27 in Pisgah United Methodist Church from the times of 2:00pm until 3:00pm. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00pm in the church, with burial following in Mechanicsville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Marifaye was born in Darlington County on August 24, 1982 to Abram Dorla Lewis and Faye Johnson Lewis. Marifaye attended Byrnes Academy and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Francis Marion University. She grew up in a family of farmers and continued the family tradition. Marifaye loved being around her friends and was delighted when everyone was smiling and having fun together. She loved life on the river and will be missed by her “River Family”. In her free time, she enjoyed putting together puzzles. Marifaye was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Hattie, and was very proud of her accomplishments.

In addition to her parents of the Mechanicsville Community, Marifaye is survived by her husband, Charles Scott Haselden, daughter, Hattie Haselden, brother, Abe (Amber) Lewis, sister, Cindy (Mitch) Gibbons who helped raise Marifaye. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lewis.
