Loretta Lynn (Grooms) Watford

LAMAR- Loretta Lynn Grooms Watford, age 53, died Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the McLeod Hospice House. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home in Lamar at 3:00 on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (2-3) at the funeral home and other times at the home of Timmy and Angela Grooms, 2004 E. Lydia Hwy.

Born in Darlington County on December 29, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Ham Grooms.  Loretta had worked as a cashier at different retail stores, and enjoyed singing karaoke. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also taking care of her husband of 32 years, Marty Watford.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Brittney (Gene) Chapman, grandchildren: Elizabeth Carter, Keaton Powell and Raven Chapman, brothers, Wayne Grooms, Ricky Grooms and Timmy (Angela) Grooms.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stevie Grooms and a half brother, Robbie Grooms.
