Linda Grace Melton Byrd

Linda Grace Melton Byrd, age 70, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020. A graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13th at Oates Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of Angelia and David Marlowe, 1122 High Hill Rd. Darlington. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that all visitors please wear a mask.

Born August 25, 1949, Linda was the daughter of the late Rogers Hampton Melton and Annie Viola Stokes Melton. She worked as an insurance agent/broker and retired from Mutual of Omaha. Linda was a member of Grace Baptist Church and attended Oates Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Angelia B. (David) Marlowe of Darlington, Sharon B. Roberts of Longs, SC; grandchildren, David Alexander Marlowe, Candace Marie Marlowe, Jessica Rae Hamilton, and Adam Joseph Hamilton; sister, Doris L. Windham of Darlington; brothers, Lawrence H. Melton and Rev. James C. (Barbara) Melton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Billy R. Melton and Rev. Donny Melton.
