Janice Karen Flowers Harwood, age 64, went home to be with her Lord on May 26, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 3:00 on Sunday, June 7, 2020. The family will receive friends following the service.
Born on Darlington on December 14, 1955, she is the daughter of Janice Newsome Flowers and the late Howard Belor “H.B.” Flowers, Jr. Karen was a floral designer, and used her God-given talent to bring beauty and happiness into other people’s lives through her work. She lived most of her life in Spokane, WA and Butte, MT, before moving back to Darlington a few years ago. She was delighted to be back in her home, and loved it dearly. Mrs. Harwood was a member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Darlington is her son, Caleb Newsome Harwood of Butte, MT, a sister, Stephanie F. Camak of Myrtle Beach, SC and nephews, Gil (Linda) Camak and Matt (Kelsi) Camak.
She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Charles “Chuck” William Harwood and her infant brother, Harold Flowers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karen’s Honor to Temple Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 287, Darlington SC 29540 designating to the Debt Retirement Fund or the Local Missions Fund; or you may donate to a charity of your choice.
