John “Johnny” Calhoun McInville, Jr., age 78, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5th at Belk Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 6th at 4:00pm in Mechanicsville Baptist Church, with burial following the service in Mechanicsville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Johnny was born in Darlington, SC on August 1, 1945 to the late John Calhoun Mcinville, Sr. and Mary Lou Wallace McInville. Johnny served in the United States Navy. He started working at Nucor in 1969 and worked with them for 37 years until his retirement, he also worked at the Highway Department in Darlington. Johnny enjoyed helping others, including being a Hospice volunteer and delivering medicine to people. He was a faithful member and Deacon of Mechanicsville Baptist Church and always helped his church in any way possible like driving the kids church van and helping with shut-ins.
Johnny is survived by his children: Cindy Weatherford, Joel R. (Rosemarie) Matthews, Johnny “Cal” McInville III, grandchildren: Cynthia (Al) Anderson, Lee Manship (Bryce), Brittani (Donnie) Stewart, Adrianna Weatherford, Johnny C. McInville IV, Jonathan (Cori) McInville, Benjamin Tyler McInville, Kryctine (Daniel) Watkins, Whitney (Brandon) Sapp, and Jackson Matthews. He is also survived by his brother, Wallace (Priscilla) McInville, his church family and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lee McInville, and his sister, Mary Cook.
