Jimmie Harrison Perkins, age 81, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. A private service will be held Tuesday, February 16th, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born on August 21, 1939, Jimmie was the son of the late Lewis Franklin Perkins and Ruby Easter Odom Perkins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and retired from Pee Dee Coop as a satellite dish technician. Jimmie was a talented musician who played multiple instruments and loved music, especially country and gospel. Anytime spent in his presence would usually result in a singalong. He was a member of Mt. Elon United Methodist Church where he served as choir director.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Norris Perkins; children, Tonya (Linardo) Sagala of Houston, TX, Cindy Miller of Florence, Tina (Greg) Suggs of Effingham, Mary (Tony) Wilkins of Houston, TX, and Sharon Coe (Addam) of Charleston; grandchildren, Hunter Miller, Tyler and Betty Suggs, Hannah Wilkins, Amanda Jordan Porter, Brandon, Morgan, and Karlee Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lewis Perkins, daughter, Debbie Perkins; as well as two brothers, Lewis Perkins, Jr. and Tommy Perkins.
