Jessie Mae Cooper, age 85, passed away on September 15, 2022 at home with her loving family. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 17 from 1:00 until 2:00 in Belk Funeral Home; a memorial service will follow at 2:00 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home.
Jessie Mae was born August 4, 1937 in Darlington. She was the daughter of the late John Frank Brown and Nancy Jane O’Neal. She worked at Dixie Cup for 33 years before later retiring. Her hobbies were crafts, bird watching, tending to her flowers and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Darlington Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her daughters, Marie (David) Deese of Wadesboro, NC, Pat (Dan) Howle of Darlington, Velma Cooper of Darlington, Teresa Skinner of Darlington, thirteen grandchildren, an abundance of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, and her friend and her constant companion, her puppy, Missy, her son-in-law John Hogan
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Harolene Hogan, son-in-law, John Hogan, grandson, Cliff Hogan, great-grandson, John Roy Skinner III, and sister, Vernie Browne.
