James Melvin Windham, age 83 died Monday, April 11, 2022. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14th at Windhamtown Cemetery in Lamar, SC, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born on January 29, 1939, Melvin was the son of the late Sam Windham and Nellie Smith Windham. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He worked as a mechanic and a farmer, and was employed with Nytronics until his retirement. Melvin loved fishing, watching NASCAR, and watching old westerns. He was a member of Newman Swamp Southern Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy O’Neal Windham; children, Gene (Jennifer) Windham of Aiken, Angie (Carl) Jones of Pamplico, Pamela Mahaffey of Florence and Mike (Loretta) Windham of Lamar; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sidney (Brenda) Windham.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Greer; and a son-in-law, Thomas Mahaffey.
