Grier Carter Copeland

Grier Carter Copeland, Sr. was the son of the late Franklin Davis and Sudie Carter Copeland, born September 11, 1945 and died October 25, 2018 at age 73. He is survived by his daughter, Candyce Copeland Chapman and her husband Scott, and his grandson, Dylan Chapman. He is also survived by his son, Grier C. Copeland, Jr. and his wife, Bet-C; granddaughter, Grayson Copeland and twin grandchildren, Peyton and Carter Copeland. Surviving siblings are Janice Pigate and her husband Jim, Frank D. Copeland "Bud" and his wife Becky; his brother-in-law, Aubrey Richardson; and a special friend, Richard Bell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Roxanne Richardson, who died August 13, 2018.
Grier was a lifelong farmer in the Lamar area; he was a quiet and humble man all of his life, and of the Presbyterian faith.
A visitation will be held Sunday, October 28th from 2-3 p.m. at Fair Hope Church, with a graveside service following in the church cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends other times at the home of Mr. Copeland, 656 E. Lynches River Rd. Lamar, SC 29069.
