Gerald Matthew Lloyd

Gerald Matthew “Cat” Lloyd, age 80 died in his home on Friday, May 6, 2022. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 9th at Elim United Methodist Church with burial following at the church cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Monday at the church.

Born on July 21, 1941, Gerald was the son of the late L. Matthew “Mac” Lloyd and Louise Register Lloyd. He was employed with Sonoco Products Company having worked on the number ten paper machine. He retired after 41 years. Gerald was an avid golfer, loved being outside especially working in his yards, he enjoyed helping people, loved his grandsons and was strong in his faith. Gerald was a member of Elim United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Connie Sansbury Lloyd; two children, Angie (Michael) Miller of Hartsville and Ginger (Jon) McCoy of Summerville; grandsons, Scott Marshall of Hartsville, Jarrett (Ellie) McCoy of Summerville, and Matthew McCoy of El Paso, Texas; brothers, Fred (Peggy) Lloyd and Richard Lloyd, all of Hartsville; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Clements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elim United Methodist Church in c/o Muryl Gardner, 3586 Oates Hwy. Lamar, SC 29069.
