George E. Braddock Jr., age 78 died Monday, January 10, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, January 13th at Calvary Tabernacle on Highway 151 with burial following at Darlington Memorial Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Thursday at the church before the service.
George was born on April 26th 1943, the son of the late George E Braddock Sr. and Alice Dora Huggins Braddock. He worked at Sonoco Products Company until his retirement after 38 years. Once he retired he was able to do what he truly loved, work on boats and play music full time. He was a talented musician who would share his blessing with anyone who listened. Georges shop became not only a business but a meeting place to family, friends and strangers alike to meet up and hang out, eat and most of all play music. He loved to cook, and had several secret receipts that he only shared with a choice few. George attended Bethel Methodist Church where he would regularly bless everyone with his gift of song. George loved his family dearly and never met a stranger; he always had a smile and a joke to brighten up your day, no matter how corny.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Claudia Norwood Braddock; two children, Claude (Donna Moore) Braddock of Florence and Sheila Braddock of Hartsville; grandchildren, Hannah (Kevin) Howle and Grayson (Racheal Best) Braddock; greatgrandchild Charlotte Claire Braddock, and a sister, Dale Wilson; many special nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Russell and Beulah Commander.
Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church c/o Debra Andrews, 2308 Sportsman Dr., SC 29550
As a curtesy to everyone the family asked that anyone attending please wear a mask.
