Freda June Cameron Summer, age 70 died Friday, June 18, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22nd at Darlington Church of God of Prophecy, with a graveside service following at 3 p.m. at the mausoleum in Berkeley Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Belk Funeral Home.
Born on April 24, 1951, Freda was the daughter of the late George Buffkin and Wilma Horne Seymour, but was adopted and raised by Anna Louis and Early Q. Pridgen. She was a teacher for the Billy Hardee Home for Boys; and was a substitute teacher for Darlington County Schools. Freda enjoyed reading, shopping, coloring, puzzles, especially Sudoku puzzles. She was a member of Darlington Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are her husband, Kyle “Dickie” R. Summer; son, Charles (Peggy) Cameron of Moncks Corner; adopted son, Kevin (Crystal) Angel of Cross, SC; step-daughter, Kimberly Murdaugh; step-sons, Michael Monts and Richard Monts; daughter-in-law, Shannon Cameron; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Moon; brother, Danny Ray Seymour; and her aunt, Nancy Weeks of Charleston.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Cameron; her children, Chris Cameron and Freda Louise Cameron Lassiter; two brothers and one sister.
