Franklin Wayne Stephens, age 58, died suddenly at his home on September 29, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 on Sunday in Darlington Memorial Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Darlington.
Born in Darlington on January 15, 1963, he is the son of Patricia Outlaw Stephens and the late Franklin D. Stephens. He worked for HB Robinson Power Plant and then as a maintenance supervisor for CareSouth. Wayne enjoyed spending time with friends at the Darlington Moose Lodge, watching NASCAR and riding the dirt roads around his house in Lamar.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his daughter Cristy (Wayne) Privette , his son, Bradley Stephens, step-son, Matt (Jackie) Jordan, all of Lamar, his grandchildren, Trace Privette, Emily Beeman, Taylynn and Wyatt Jordan, his siblings, Pam Lane and Ken (Lisa) Stephens and special friend, Sheila Jordan.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Swann, grandmother, Bonnie Swann and brother-in-law Preston Lane.
