A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 28 at Saint Matthew’s Church in Darlington, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Born on October 6, 1948, Chip is the son of the late Edward Colgate Dennis, Jr and Jane Hill McKinnon Dennis. He graduated from Brandon Hall, attended Newberry College, and then served in the United States Army. After returning home, he graduated from Florence-Darlington Technical College and worked as an accountant under his late father-in-law, Harold Jaillette. He continued to own and operate Dennis Tax Service throughout his life.

He was a member of Saint Matthews Church, where he served on the Vestry, was a member of the Men’s Bible study group, was always in the kitchen for the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, and was active in the Cursillo movement.
He loved Jesus, loved his family, and loved his country. He was an avid outdoorsman who lived to be on the water, loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He held a lot of titles: son, brother, friend, husband, father, Pappy, and the infamous “Baitman”. He was a friend and mentor to many young people over the years.
