David Anthony Nettles

David Anthony Nettles, age 43, passed away on November 6, 2023. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, November 16th at 2:00pm in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.

David was born on June 10, 1980 in Florence County. He is the son of the late James “Jim” Alfred Nettles and Patricia “Pat” Gause Nettles. David was a skilled electrician, and worked his way up to project foreman. He loved birthday celebrations and especially the Christmas season.  Being around all of his family was very special to him. David was a hard and diligent worker who enjoyed staying busy and doing various projects. This led him into the hobby of raising and caring for chickens. He was very proud of the knowledge that he attained and wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to share all about it. He especially loved to fish and would go every chance he got. 

He is survived by his sister, Cathy (Billy) Rolfe; niece, Morgan Rolfe; uncle, Tommy Gause; cousins, Jacqueline Gause and Brody Justice; aunt and uncle, Cheri and Ingram Truluck; godmother and godfather, Peggy and Eaddie Cooks, along with their son, and David’s best friend, John Howe. David also leaves behind his devoted sidekick and four-legged furry companion, “Lady”. 

David is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Pat Nettles.
