Marion Corbett Gandy, age 82 died Friday, April 29, 2022. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, May 2th. The family will receive friends at the home of Jimmy and Cynthia Jolly, 1121 Potato House Rd. Darlington.
Born on June 15, 1939, Corbett was the son of the late Vernon Corbett Gandy and Annie Mae Bryant Gandy. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard for nine years; and was employed at Clanton’s Auto for over 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, college football, and loved his family. Corbett was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Darlington.
Surviving are his son, Jimmy (Cynthia) Jolly; a grand-daughter who was raised as his daughter, Ryan (Geoff) Hughes; grandchildren, Kelsey Jolly, Landon Jolly, Jackson Howle, Coker Howle, and Autumn Rylee Hughes; his caretakers, Margarie Scott, Rosa James, Lou Adams and Tammy Stengel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor O. Gandy; a son, Randy Jolly and a brother, Vernon Coleman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church in c/o Pastor Gene Hancock, 22 Mockingbird Rd. Bishopville, SC 29010; or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
