Billy Clark, age 69, passed away September 4, 2020. He was born in Bennettsville, SC, son of the late Frank Britt and Nettie Mae Eden Britt. Billy retired from the Housing Authority of Florence and was a volunteer fireman with the City of Darlington for many years. He was a devout Christian and was a member of The Florence First Seventh Day Advent Church.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Ruby; three children: Todd Clark of VA, Michael Clark of Georgia and a daughter Raven (Rick) Johnson of Darlington, grandchildren: Temple Freeman, Thorn Freeman, Aubrey Poole, Kelsey Williams, Lexi Johnson and Macy Johnson; five great-grandchildren: Baylon, Phillip, Ava, Renleigh and Elias; sisters: Frances Merritt, Jean Walters and Cynthia Shoemake, brothers: Larry Clark, Everett Clark and Frank Britt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Thomas Daniel Clark, and siblings, Sylvia Bump Britt, David Clark and John Randolph “Champ” Clark, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8th at Belk Funeral Home, with his funeral service following at 5:00 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place at Grove Hill Cemetery at a later date.
