Betty Hamer Loflin, age 95 died Monday, May 30, 2022. A graveside service will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 6th at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm Monday at Belk Funeral Home.
Born on December 16, 1926, Betty was the daughter of the late Cecil C. Hamer, Sr. and Eula Price Hamer.
In addition to enjoying time spent with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, crafting, and collecting seashells. Betty had previously enjoyed being an active member of Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church in Darlington, until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Betty was a telephone operator and retired with 32 years of service from Southern Bell in 1982.
Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Graves of Florence; grandchildren, Magan “Betsy” (David) Thomas, Bryan Davis (Liz Fluty), and Lindsey Graves; great-grandchildren, Kadryn Davis, Jase Graves, Everly Thomas, Avery Lunsford, and Chandler Hurley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Loflin; daughter, Jean Loflin Lee; grandson, Mike Lyons; sister, Florence Thomas; and a brother, Cecil Hamer, Jr.
