Archie Steven Wright

Archie Steven Wright, age 68 died suddenly at his home on Monday, March 28, 2022 after a short illness. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 1st in the Darlington Chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born on March 1, 1954, Archie was the son of the late Julian Kenneth Wright and Virginia Watford Wright Lynch. He was a talented carpenter and took pride in building and remodeling homes. Archie was an avid golfer, mostly playing at the Governor's Run Golf Club in Lamar. He also loved to fish in the pond next to his house and spending time with his brother, Jakey. 

Surviving are his two daughters, Stephanie (Johnford) Murray of Florence and Adrianne (Jeremy) Murphy of Columbia; grandchildren, Kailee (Trent) Wagner, Taylor Murphy, and Harrison Murphy; siblings, Jakey (Sandy) Wright, Miriam Talley (Robert), Vera Hancock, Linda Piscezek and Robin Lynch.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Austin Leon Wright, Theresa Ann Dorriety, and Edwin Carrol “Boweavil” Wright.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hebron Colony Ministries, 356 Old Turnpike Rd. Boone, NC 28607.
