Annie Ruth Walker Cason

Annie Ruth Walker Cason, age 82, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, September 17, 2023. 

Ruth was born in Wyoming County, West Virginia on January 10, 1941, to the late James Holly Walker and Augusta Willie Trump Walker. Ruth had a love for cooking, having worked in the school systems as a Food Service Manager in the cafeteria and catering for weddings with her friend, Joanne. She was a very crafty lady, she loved making ceramics and candy making. Ruth enjoyed clogging and listening to bluegrass music. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her children, James Alan (Divine) Cason, Timothy Ray (Angela) Cason, Randell Earl Cason, Sherry Sue Cason; nine grandchildren: Mary Ann Cason, Amanda Cason, Crystal Wright, Michelle Tyner, Eric Cason, Brittany Pack, Nick Cason, Hailey Holyfield, and Bryar Cason;  great-grand children: Mickela Wright, Candace Tyner, Chad Tyner, Chase Tyner, Walker Cason, Whitley Cason, Wells Cason, Presley Pack, Sawyer Cason, and Sophie Holyfield, and great-great grandchildren: TJ Cooper, Emmaleigh Wisnoski, and Cooper Wisnoski.Ruth is also survived by her sisters, Edna (Jerry) Bailey of Beckley, WV and Ruby Davis of Thomasville, NC.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Ryan Cason; sister, Ella Cook; and brothers, Roy Lee Walker, Rocy Walker, Johnny Walker, Raymond Walker, and two infant brothers.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the funeral home, with a service following at 11:00 in the chapel. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery.
