Ann Carter Parrott, 91, died peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, May 20th at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Ann was born on November 9, 1931 to the late Martin Leon Carter, Sr. and Mary Currin Carter. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and Pembroke University where she studied Fine Arts.
Ann was an Art teacher in the Dillon County Public Schools and later enjoyed a career as a Timeshare Sales Representative. This second career gave Ann the opportunity to live and work in Vero Beach, FL, Newport, RI, and New Orleans, LA.
Ann maintained a child-like heart and spirit throughout her 91 years. She lived a life full of adventures and loved her family and friends dearly. The light of Ann’s life was her son, Leon, and her three granddaughters, Laney, Ruthie, and Maggie. If you happened to sit by her on a plane, or near her in a waiting room, you most likely heard at least one of the accomplishments of one or all of them.
Ann is survived by her son, Leon Parrott, of Myrtle Beach, granddaughters Laney Parrott (Caitlin), Woodbridge, VA, Ruthie Kline (Nathan), Myrtle Beach, and Maggie Parrott, Richmond, VA and their mother, Susan Davidson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nephews whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her sister, Claude D. Carter, and brothers Martin L. Carter, Jr., and E. Currin Carter.
