Allen Lewis Knotts

Allen “Mountain Man” Lewis Knotts, age 72, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at his residence surrounded by friends and family. A visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 4:00pm Tuesday, January 31 at Belk Funeral Home in Lamar. A Funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:00pm in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home in Lamar, with burial following in Knotts Family Cemetery.

Allen was born in Florence, SC on April 27, 1950. He is the son of the late Lewis and Bonnie Mae Banfield Knotts. Allen worked as a truck driver with ARD Trucking and Vulcraft from 1971 to 2012 before his retirement. Mr. Knotts was a man who was loved by everyone and took great care of his family.

Allen is survived by his loving wife, Marion “Lula” Cribb Knotts, children, Donna Jean Knotts of Lamar, Paul (Michelle) Barnes of Myrtle Beach, Dana (Mike) Marinaro of West Virginia, Tonya Amerson of Lamar, grandchildren: John, Tommy (Sarah), Joshua, Jenna, Jr, (Kelly). Amber (Avery), Stephanie, Anthony, Joshua, great-grandchildren, Noah Allen and Millie. Allen is also survived by siblings, Walter (Thelma) Knotts, Della (Gerald) Moore, Debbie Westmoreland.

In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by siblings, Janice Lynch, and David Knotts.
