Allen Joplin Obituary

John Allen Joplin, age 71, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020. Belk Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.

Born October 9, 1948, Allen was the son of the late Walter Baxton Joplin and Ola Williams Watford. He worked as a truck driver and electrician. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children, Renea (Matt) Clement of Woodstock, GA, and John (Maggie) Etchieson of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Stevens of Lamar and Brenda Morris of Florence; brother, Bunyon (Diane) Watford of Lamar; many nieces and nephews; special nephews, Tony (Michelle) Stevens who affectionately referred to Allen as “Calhoun”, Jeryld (Rhonda) Stevens, and Mike (Tammy) Windham.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Bunyon Watford; five sisters and one brother.
