Yolanda "Dinkie" Stephens Darlington - Frances Yolanda "Dinkie" Gandy Stephens, wife of Alex Stephens, age 58 passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, March 12th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. Born October 3, 1957 in Hartsville, SC, Yolanda is the daughter of Evelyn Griggs, and the late Willie Gandy, Jr. She worked for Darlington Shredding from 1992-2004. She loved all animals and enjoyed raising Alpacas with her husband. Surviving are her husband, Alex Stephens; her mother, Evelyn Griggs Gandy Freeman, both of Darlington; her daughter, Stefanie (Terry) Matthews of Darlington; her step-daughters, Susan (Jay) Holladay of Florence and Jenny Stephens Harrell of Darlington; her grandchildren, Caleb and Kyle Matthews, and Madelyn and John Holladay; her sister, Lanie Gandy of Darlington; her step-sister, Tammie Anderson; her mother-in-law, JoAnn McKnight of Darlington; her father-in-law, Harrison Stephens; and her former mother-in-law, Lou Phillips of Society Hill; and her canine companion, Rusty Stephens. Preceded in death in addition to her father, Willie Gandy, Jr., are her step-father, Buck Freeman; her grandson, Ethan Harrell; her sister, Bernice Bryant; her brothers, Gene Gandy and Bill Gandy; her special momma, Frillie; and her first husband, Joe Phillips. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday, March 11th at Belk Funeral Home, and other times at the home Jay and Susan Holladay, 3301 Trenton St. Florence, SC.
