William “Bill” James Pace, 85, died September 3, 2026. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 11th, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Florence National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.

Bill was born April 2nd, 1941, in Dillon, SC, to the late Daniel and Iona Hamilton Pace. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, Bill worked at ESAB for over 40 years. He was very active with his fellow veterans, serving as president of the Marine Corps League. He was also an active member of the and a founding member Florence Veterans Honor Guard and a member of the American Legion Post 13. He loved sports, especially football and baseball, which he coached. There was no question that on Saturday Bill was pulling for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

He is survived by his son; Bill (Elizabeth) Pace and daughter; Shannon Pace Music.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents listed above, wife; Shirley Ann Pace, and siblings; Joan Tunstall and Carrie Dale Gouveia.
