Russ June

William Russell “Russ” June Jr., 48, of Lamar, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home, with entombment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Russ was born on April 9, 1978, in Florence, South Carolina, to William Russell June Sr. and Miriam Pamela White, and grew up in Darlington. He lived in several places over the years, both in South Carolina and across the country, and met many people along the way. Russ spent several years working in automotive sales before starting his own landscaping business in more recent years.

Russ truly never met a stranger. If he arrived at the golf course and saw a group heading to the first tee without a full foursome, he thought nothing of walking up, introducing himself, and asking if he could join them. It was simply his nature. Over the years, many strangers he met that way became friends, and Russ seemed to make friends wherever he went.

Russ loved being outdoors and spent countless hours on the golf course. He also enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity and was a devoted Clemson fan who rarely missed a chance to cheer on his Tigers. Fun-loving and full of personality, Russ enjoyed making people laugh and formed many friendships throughout his life. He was fortunate to have many people who cared deeply for him, including his close friend, Heather Ditcher.

Most importantly, Russ loved his family and was deeply loved in return. He had a relationship with Jesus Christ and a faith that remained an important part of his life. His family takes comfort in that faith and in the many memories he leaves behind.

Russ is survived by his mother, Pam White; his father, Billy June; his brothers, Brent (Lindsay) June, Matthew June, Marcus June, and Adam (Chanie) June; and his nieces and nephews, Pake, Grace, Ellis, Lane, Ashlyn, and Evie.

Russ was blessed with a large extended family, and his aunts and uncles held a special place in his life. He is survived by his aunts and uncles, Bonnie Tedder, Sharon White, Mark (Dawn) White, Irene Raley, June June, Michael June and Margo, Marilyn (Bruce) Sanza, Bobby June and Misty, Sharon June and Jimmy, Barry (Joanne) June, and Donald June.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Gladys White; his paternal grandparents, George and Daisy June; his uncles, Charlton June, Eddie White, James Tedder, and Charlie Raley; and his aunt, Joanne June.

Russ’s life was far too short, but the love, laughter, friendships, and memories he leaves behind will remain with those who knew and loved him.
