William L. Brewer

William "Bill" L. Brewer, age 91, died Friday, November 17, 2017 in a local hospital. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, November 20th in Florence National Cemetery, with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:00 noon on Monday at Belk Funeral Home. Born in Sumter on June 11, 1926, he is the son of the late Richard Lawrence Brewer and the late Rachael Mable Wells Brewer. He served in the Unites States Air Force, retiring after twenty years of service. Mr. Brewer then drove trucks for Mercury Motors in Florence. He also enjoyed fishing when he had time. He is survived by two daughters: Barbara Griggs of Darlington, Linda (Carl) Jones of Summerville, two sons: Richard "Dicky" (Brenda Gayle) Anderson of Columbia and Jerry T. (Shirley) Anderson of Hartsville, ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mayble McDonald Brewer and was the last surviving sibling of a family of eleven.
