Darlington-Vivien B. O'Neal, age 78, passed away on February 4, 2016. The Family will receive visitors on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the chapel there Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Bruce Kimbrel, Rev. Todd Parrish, and Rev. Don Squires. Interment will be at a later date.
Born March 21, 1937, Vivien is the daughter of the late Ruth L. Hughes, and Stepfather, the late Hewitt Lloyd. She worked at many places over her lifetime; concluding with, Manheim of Darlington where she worked for forty-four years and only retired within the last year when her health would no longer allow. She enjoyed her work there and all of the people she met over the years.
Vivien was a founding member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church and continued that membership throughout the remainder of her life. Vivien loved the Lord and served in numerous capacities at the church throughout her life. She enjoyed working with the youth, teaching her Sunday School class, and serving on the Auxiliary, to name a few.
Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca Moody and Jane Lloyd, both of Darlington; her beloved grandchildren, Skyler Moody and Keith Moody, of Darlington; her sisters, Mrs. Joyce Dickerson of Darlington, Mrs. Pauline Smith of Timmonsville, her brother, Mr. Roger Bryant Sr. of Boiling Springs, along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Stepfather and brother, Mr. Eugene Bryant Sr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roy Player Missions Fund at Temple Free Will Baptist Church.
