Darlington - Virginia Louise Young Volz Virginia Louise Young Volz, age 88 passed away Friday, June 10, 2016. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, June 12th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Born October 16, 1927, Virginia is the daughter of the late Jake Young, Sr and Ella Suggs Young. She worked as the first secretary for Darlington Raceway. She lived in California for a number of years, and then recently moved back to Darlington due to her health. Surviving are her son, Jimmy (Mary) Chandler of Waggner; her daughter-in-law, Susan Chandler of Georgia; her brothers, Johnny Young and Alton (Sarah) Young; four grandchildren, Shawn Chandler, Bain Chandler, Michael Chandler, and Brandy Chandler. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Volz; her son, Leo "Lee" Chandler, Jr; her daughter, Lynn Chandler Gainey; two grandchildren, Scott Gainey and Lesley Chandler; and her brothers, Raymond Young and Leon Young.
