Mrs. Vickie Lynn Hunter Lunnon departed her earthly journey on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC at the age of 65. She was born in Darlington, South Carolina on September 29, 1958 a daughter of the late Leo Hunter and Gladys Elizabeth Hodges Hunter.
Vickie received her education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from St. John High School class of 1976. She was employed at Dixie Cup for many years and later at Belk Funeral Home as the housekeeper. Vickie was known as a very comical person. She always enjoyed keeping people laughing and smiling. Vickie had a caring heart, loved kids and taking care of people every chance, she got. She enjoyed classic cars and riding motorcycles. Vickie joined and became a member of Lee Street First Church of God.
Those left to cherish her memories of Vickie: are her siblings: Reverend Leroy Hunter of Darlington, SC, Leo Hunter of California, Gladys "DeLoris" Hunter Ray of Darlington, SC and Edrick Hunter of Ohio; three special nieces: Jennie (Alphonso, Sr.) Cannon, Kenya Hunter and Felicia (Timothy) Smith; four nephews: Barry (Connie) Hunter, Winfield (Bobie)Hunter, Leroy Hunter, Jr., Joseph (Shana) Coward and Alphonso Cannon, Jr.; special cousins: Maxie (Mary) Hunter and Maxine Hunter; her close friend, Pastor Jacqueline Admill; her god-brother, Carl (Margie) Goodson; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Frank Lunnon; a sister-in-law, Hattie Mae Hunter; a nephew, Leon Hunter.
.A visitation will take place on Friday, May 17th in Belk Funeral Home from the times of 9:00am until 5:00pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18th at 11:00am in Lee Street Church of God.
