Ulysses "Jr" Bell

Ulysses "Jr" Bell, age 78, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 23rd at Christian Pathway Fellowship Church, 905 Hibiscus Rd. Lamar, with burial following at Lamar Memorial Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday at the church. Jr was born January 30, 1941, the son of the late Ulysses Bell Sr and Beatrice Watford Stevens. He was an avid Lamar Silver Foxes fan, and enjoyed "holding court" at the Gay Ann Convenient Store. Jr was an "honorary employee" at many different businesses in Lamar. Despite his disabilities, it never hindered his involvement in community events. Jr never had an enemy and was happy to get a hug from his female friends. He was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church, but enjoyed attending different churches and church functions. Surviving are his brother, Willis Stevens of Lamar; sisters, Marcene S. (Charles) Lane of Florence, Darlene (Paul) Lawrence of Douglas, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Heyward, E.C., Bobby, Marshall, and Johnny Stevens. Memorials may be made to church of one's choice.
