Tony Stevens

Tony Allen Stevens , age 55, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 8th  in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home in Lamar, with burial following in Lamar Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Born in Florence on June 28, 1966, he is the son of Joyce Joplin Stevens and the late Heyward Stevens. Before Tony was unable to work, he worked as a machine mechanic. Tony was a sports enthusiast, and loved pulling for the Silver Foxes and Gamecocks. He also enjoyed dirt track racing.

In addition to his mother of Lamar, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mechelle Dorriety Stevens, his son, Joseph (fiancé Krystal Canupp) Stevens, three grandchildren: Alleigh Canupp, McKenzie Canupp and Cameron Stevens, a brother, Jeryld (Rhonda) Stevens, many special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, and his canine companion, Stone.

He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Courtney Stevens.
