Tommy Eugene Perkins

Tommy Eugene Perkins, age 71, died Friday, July 28, 2017. A memorial service will be held at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington on Tuesday, August 1st at 5:00pm. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 at the funeral home on Tuesday. Born in Darlington on December 5, 1945, he is the son of Ruby Odom Perkins and the late Lewis F. Perkins, Sr. Tommy served his country in the US ARMY and then worked as a mechanic for Dixie Cup until his retirement. Tommy loved fishing, keeping logbooks and maps of all his trips. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and could often be found sitting in his yard feeding and watching the cats, squirrels and birds. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Jimmie (Marguerite) Perkins of Lamar, a step-daughter, Brenda (Mike) Lee of Darlington, step-grandchildren; Stephanie (Sidney) Galloway, Trey (Brandi) Windham, Abbey (Allen) Baker, Tamika Lee-Hill and Muriel (Chris) Weathers, several great-grandchildren, and a step-daughter-in-law Terie Windham . Also surviving are numerous friends, including all of the "Streett Boys". In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Perkins, Jr, his "Sweetheart", Faye Windham and a step-son, Neil H.
