Tom Dewitt

Charles "Tom" Thomas DeWitt, age 75, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Tom was born in Florence, son of late Winfield Schley DeWitt, Jr., and Elizabeth Rabb DeWitt Galloway. He is proceeded in death by his brother James "Jim" DeWitt. Tom graduated from St. John's High School in 1967, then Francis Marion University, and later graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master's in accounting. After his time in college, he worked for McKnight, Frampton, Buskirk and Co. in Charleston, SC for 7 years. He then moved to Hilton Head and was a partner with Robinson Grant & Co. for 39 years. Upon retirement he moved back to Darlington, he loved his work and playing golf with friends.

Surviving Tom is his wife of 53 years Dorothy Snipes DeWitt, and his sons Kendall (Jan) DeWitt and Gregg DeWitt, grandson William (Monserrat) Scheifele, great grandchildren Bella and Cody Scheifele all of Bluffton, SC. He is also survived by his brother Winfield "Wink" (Debbie) Dewitt, and sister Betsy D. (David) Forrest, nieces and nephews Erin (Bryan) Miller, John (Chelsie) Forrest and Lyn (Scott) Ballard.
