Lamar

Thomas Carl Watford, 68, of Lamar, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24th, 2025.

He was born on September 19th, 1956, in Florence, South Carolina, to T.C. Watford and Therrell Randolph Watford. Thomas attended the Hudgens Academy in the 1970s, where he built lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a life marked by integrity, loyalty, and quiet strength.

Thomas enjoyed his time working at Industrial Acoustics Company and then Tally Metals, where he formed lasting bonds and took pride in his work. He retired after many years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and reliability. Outside of work, Thomas enjoyed riding motorcycles.  He loved watching tv, which his family joked he could do 24 hours a day, and being a gun enthusiast, he liked to reload his own ammo.

He leaves behind his only son, Landon (Tara) Watford, and his beloved grandson, Taylor Chase Watford. He is also survived by his sister, Gay Powell of Lamar; his brother, Mitch (Alice) Watford of Lamar; and his brother-in-law, William "Butch" (Cindy) Powell of the Cayman Islands. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Kel Watford of Lamar, Ty Watford of Columbia, and Casey (John) Boyce and their son Will of Bishopville. He is also survived by his former wife, Margaret "Meg" Norwood of Lake City.

A private family service will take place at a later date.  Belk Funeral Home is honored to help his family through their time of loss.

Any memorials may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or your local Humane Society.
