Thomas Lloyd

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Carlyle Lloyd. Born on September 25, 1944, in Darlington, South Carolina, Thomas peacefully departed this world on December 26, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Thomas, a dedicated welder for Superior Machine, made remarkable contributions to the construction industry and was known for his exceptional craftsmanship. His passion for his work was only surpassed by his love for life. An avid supporter of the University of South Carolina, Thomas wore his Gamecocks colors with pride, and could often be found cheering for his team with unyielding enthusiasm.

When he wasn’t working, Thomas found joy in fishing and tending to his yards, where he cultivated nature’s beauty with the same dedication he applied to his craft. A devoted fan of *The Young and the Restless*, he never missed an episode, often sharing his favorite storylines with family and friends.

He is survived by his sons Timmy, Tommy, and Todd Lloyd, and daughters Kaye (Jay) Flowers and Jean (Les Gardner) Nance, eleven grandchildren and several great-grands. His unwavering love and support will live on in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thomas’s life at a graveside service to be held at Lake Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery on December 29, 2025, at 3:30 PM. Prior to the graveside service, a visitation will take place at Belk Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, giving loved ones the opportunity to share memories and honor Thomas.

Thomas was preceded in death by: father Robert Lloyd, mother Lila Lloyd, wife, Ruby Lloyd, and siblings, Peggy, Bobby, Jimmy and Alton.
