Terrell “Terry” Simpson Chapman, 88, died August 3rd, 2026. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8th, at 2:00 pm at Welsh Neck Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Terry was born in Darlington, SC, August 14th, 1937, to the late William “Bill” E. and Hazel Tyner Simpson. Terry was a member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church. She attended Coker College, where she studied business and accounting , then went to work with H&R Block as a Tax Preparer and with the town of Society Hill for over 20 years as a Municipal Judge. Terry loved vacationing with her family, especially her trips across the country with her husband after they retired. She was a member of the Welsh Neck Ramblers, a group of seniors from her church, and she always loved to crochet and knit, read, and shop. When asked about her greatest accomplishments in life, Terry answered, “Raising my children to love my Savior as I do.”

She is survived by her son; Bobby R. “Rusty” (Jennie) Chapman Jr., and daughters; Patricia (Lester) Chapman Devine of Society Hill and Lynne (Ken) Chapman McRae of Society Hill, grandchildren; Jesse Ray “J.R.” (Rachel) Chapman, Thomas (Anne) Horne Jr., Taylor (Tyler) Horne, Samantha Lynne Devine, Russell Harris Devine, Elizabeth M. McRae, Jackson Paul (Emily) McRae, Kendall Ruth McRae (Dalton) Flowers, and great grandchildren; Kaley Penninger, Raylan James Chapman, and Sadie Lee Braswell, Lillian Mae Braswell and Rhett Alexander Horne, Judah Reign McRae, Jessy James McRae, Grant Anderson Sanner.

Terry is preceded in death by her parents; William “Bill” E. Simpson Sr. and Hazel Tyner Simpson, husband; Bobby Chapman, brother; William “Bill” E. Simpson Jr., and sister; Hazel Faye Simpson.
