Susan Marlene (Welch) Perkins

Susan Marlene Welch Perkins, age 61, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. A visitation will be held on Friday in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home Lamar from the times of 11:00am until 12:00pm, with a service following in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home Lamar.

Susan was born on November 23, 1961 in Hartsville, SC to the late James Wilbur Welch and Helen Lee Smith Welch. Susan always enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and eating good food. She had a love for cats and always enjoyed watching NASCAR whenever it was on.

Susan is survived by her step-mother; Pearl "Ma Pearl", two brothers; Mitchell (Teressa) Welch and Charles "Chuck" Grooms. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her pet cats.

In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her sister, Linda W. Moody.
