Sue (Lawson) Campbell

Margie Sue Lawson Campbell, passed away suddenly on June 27th, 2025.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Campbell was born in Asheboro, NC, daughter of the late Perry Alman Lawson and the late Nellie Brown Lawson. Sue worked in the financial field with both TranSouth and Wachovia and later was employed with Cracker Barrel and Lab Corp.  She enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time tending to her yard. She was an animal lover, and always enjoyed being in the company of her dogs.

She is survived by a niece, Jennifer Lawson, her in-laws: Connie Lawson, Page Chestnut, Lisa Campbell, Gwen Gandy and Johnny Campbell, two step-sons: Bradley (Kelli) Campbell and Braden (Tricia Lynn) Campbell. Also surviving is her life-long friend, Kitty Dunn and her furry companion "Spud".

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Campbell and her brother, William Bruce Lawson.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Darlington County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
