He was a man of few words, but his words spoke volumes. He was a member of the Lamar Baptist church. His love for God guided his life and was reflected in the kindness, humility, and quiet strength he shared with those around him. Those who knew him will remember his steadfast faith, quiet wisdom, gentle presence, and the love he showed through his actions.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gayla Clements Tallon; his daughters, Jenifer (Graham) McPherson and Ashley (Robert) Windham; his cherished grandchildren, Tallon (Mackensie) McPherson, Merideth Tallon, Anna McPherson, Cody (Ellis) Windham, Alexis Windham, and Addison Windham; his treasured great-grandchildren, Tate and Tillman Windham; his beloved nieces, Angie (Derwin) Eaddy and Amy (Mark) Barhill; and his nephew, Tallon (Meg) Temple.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Beasley Tallon and John Wyatt Tallon Sr.; his brother, John Wyatt Tallon Jr.; and his sister, Frances Temple.
Steve will be remembered for his unwavering love for God, his deep love for his family, his faithful service to his country, and the quiet example he set for generations to follow. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
