Steve Coker

Steven "Steve" O. Coker, age 71, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024. A visitation will be held in Temple free Will Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 6th from the times of 5:00pm until 6:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 6:00pm.

Steve was born in Williamsburg County on November 12, 1952, son of the late Sherman Coker and Linnie Bell Kennedy Coker. Steve retired from Nucor Steel after working with them for over 30 years. Mr. Coker loved tending to his yard, you could always find him outside working. Above all were Steve's grandchildren, they were his pride and joy, he truly cherished every moment he spent with them. If you were around Steve and his sister, Virginia you would often hear Steve tell her to go home, but he always wanted her to stay around. Steve loved attending church and was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness and attended Temple Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving Steve is his wife of 49 years, Crystal Tadlock Coker, his two sons, Jonah (Stacey) Coker and Michael (Casey) Coker, five grandchildren, London, Lawson, Autumn, Aaron, and Ava. He is also survived by his brothers, Dexter "Pee Wee" Coker and Rex Coker, and his sister, Virginia C. Edwards.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his siblings, Virgil, Flemon, Jack, M.C., Johnny, and Raymond Coker.

In honor of Mr. Coker, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
